Triad was contracted by various contractors to perform construction testing and inspection services on multiple sections of this major U.S. Highway upgrade.
Construction testing consisted of compaction testing on fill and backfill materials, concrete testing during concrete placement for bridge sub and super structures, site drainage features, and concrete paving, and sampling and materials testing on aggregates used for base stone and drainage applications. Laboratory testing for this project consisted of gradation testing and Atterberg limits tests on aggregates and compressive strength testing of concrete test cylinders. All construction testing and inspection services were controlled and monitored by the WVDOT, Division of Highways, District 1.
