The Mike Callas Stadium at North Hagerstown High School was a long-awaited dream come true. Until November of 2006, North and South Hagerstown High Schools had to share a stadium for sporting events. The new stadium includes an artificial turf field, designed to accommodate soccer, football and lacrosse, and seats 2,000 people. The 8-lane state of the art track is designed to hold National and N.C.A.A sanctioned track events. This was mostly a privately funded project with some State and Local funding.
Triad worked closely as part of a design team to provided civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental, and land surveying services for the Mike Callas Stadium. Surveying services included topology and detail location on the project and from construction stake-out to certification of the field and track dimensions. Geotechnical services included pre-design subsurface investigations and onsite quality control. Environmental services provided Forest Conservation design to meet ordinance requirements. Civil services included the grading, storm drainage, stormwater control, utility layout, landscaping, handicap accessibility, and site design. Triad provided specifications for the bid documents and attended pre- and bid meetings as well as weekly construction progress meetings. Triad provided construction clarification and redesigns in support of requests for information and reviewed change orders until the project was complete.
